AC Milan has officially announced the signing of Belgian winger Diego Moreira from Strasbourg. The young talent has committed to the Rossoneri until June 30, 2031, and will wear the number 22 jersey.

Full Statement on Diego Moreira's Arrival

Born in Liège on August 6, 2004, Diego Moreira developed in the youth academies of Standard Liège and Benfica. He made his mark in Benfica's youth teams, winning the UEFA Youth League with the U19 squad in the 2021/22 season and the U20 Intercontinental Cup shortly after. He also debuted in the UEFA Champions League in the 2022/23 preliminary rounds with the Lisbon club.

In the summer of 2023, he transferred to Chelsea, where he made his senior team debut on August 30 of the same year in a Carabao Cup match against Wimbledon. During the 2023/24 season, he played for Olympique Lyon, before making a permanent move to Strasbourg in the summer of 2024.

In Alsace, Moreira established himself as one of the most promising young players in the French league, showcasing his speed, technical ability, and tactical versatility. Internationally, Diego Moreira represented Portugal at various youth levels, including the U21 team and the 2023 U21 European Championship. Since 2025, he has been a member of the senior Belgian national team, debuting in the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers and participating in the final tournament.

AC Milan extends a warm welcome to Diego and wishes him the best of personal and team success in the Rossoneri colors.

Diego Moreira's First Words

"I'm excited and a little bit in disbelief, because when you talk about Milan, you talk about titles, history, and all the great champions who have played here. It's a huge club: you know what's expected of you, and I believe this is the right moment to arrive here. It's very important for me that people understand that I'm a guy who likes to joke around, but also extremely focused and who, on the pitch, gives everything for my teammates, for the fans, and for the club. That will never change, because it's part of me since I was little."
