Zoe McCray - No Panic 18s Assistant & Pink Shirt Coach
My name is Zoe McCray and I'm a senior at Broad Run High School. I have played on the volleyball team at BRHS for the past four years and I played for No Panic Volleyball during my sophomore year! I was attracted to the game through an older friend and neighbor, when she tried out for her freshmen team, during that time I was in eighth grade. I wanted to try something new and that was what inspired me to try out for my eighth grade LYV team. Due to me not playing club for both my junior and senior year, I knew I didn't want to detach completely from the sport. I love volleyball but along with schoolwork, clubs, and just life, I knew I wouldn't be able to handle it. I was referred to No Panic my 16s year through a friend and had a successful season here, so when the idea of assistant coaching came up, I knew this was where I wanted to be. I think my best advice to give the players I will be coaching is that "hard work works." The effort you put in will show the amount of success you have. Therefore, if you are always trying your best you will be successful in the long run. Outside of volleyball, I am very involved in clubs at my school, such as, National Honor Society, DECA, Sigma Tau Sigma, and Leadership Academy. I also work at Fitwize 4 Kids. My favorite volleyball influencer is Misty May Treanor because of her positive attitude and how she implements the quote "hard work works." As of right now I may be majoring in Physical Therapy, I have time to figure things out so this may change! I do not have much coaching experience, although I have worked with kids for the past 3 years in other jobs. I am excited to broaden this spectrum, however! I began playing volleyball in eighth grade, I also played club that year. For all four years of high school I played for Broad Run and chose to do club both my freshmen and sophomore years, as well. I am super excited to share the love for volleyball this year and I'm looking forward to working with everyone!
